Arthur Lee was educated by the George Washington University and awarded Artist of the Year in 2020 by the Eileen Kaminsky Family Foundation, one of the most reputable residency programs and art collections in the United States. He has exhibited his paintings internationally in South Korea, Mexico, Germany and Italy as a NYC painter for nearly twenty years. Mr. Lee has taught at reputable art institutions across the East Coast from private schools, universities and critically acclaimed art studios such as the Corcoran School of Art & Design, McLean Project for the Arts, the Bullis school, the Washington Project for the Arts, Saint Nicks Academy and the ESKFF residency program. Mr. Lee has now dedicated his time to passing the torch to the next generation of artists, giving students the skills and knowledge acquired in his over ten successful years in the fine art industry.

AKL CURRICULUM

AKL FINE ART is a studio program designed to strengthen fundamentals, discover one’s creative voice and build a strong portfolio. Artists will learn essential skills and techniques for expressing themselves at Springdale Professional Center.
Whether you’re in high school developing your college portfolio submission or interested in exploring your creative side, all levels are welcome.

PORTFOLIO DEVELOPMENT

Mr. Lee has taught the entire educational spectrum, from absolute beginners learning the foundations of drawing to adults who desire to discover their creative voice. But his specialty is working with high schoolers concentrating on developing a stand-out portfolio. Whatever level you are, you will be supported in your creative development towards actualizing your style and voice as an artist with the AKL Fine Art teaching system.

Students will learn traditional principles along with an appreciation towards art history and theory. With these techniques and tools, students will gain the discipline and power to influence the culture and world positively utilizing the creative process. There is nothing more cathartic and fulfilling than a pursuit in the fine arts, you learn not only to create beautiful things but to express yourself beyond words onto color and form.

Tuition & INFORMATION

Tuition is $250 + an additional $25 art material fee totaling to $275 every four sessions. The $25 material fee covers all art materials used, including the canvasses, paint, charcoals, oil pastels, bristol and newsprint, etc.

While other art programs host an average of 30-60 students per class, AKL Fine Art is designed for individualized attention. The small group sessions run at eight students maximum per session (semi-private) that meet for a two-hour session.

Classes take place at 5015-A Backlick Road, Annandale, VA 22003 on the second floor, only one block away from Bradlick Shopping Center.
